And the best part? They’re all located in and around a beautiful national park. You can enjoy nature and wildlife while you’re soaking up the sun and splashing in the waves.

Let’s explore the different types of beaches, from sandy to rocky, and learn about the amazing activities you can do while you’re there.

Sand Beach

First up, we have Sand Beach. As you might have guessed, this beach has a lot of sand and is one of the most popular Acadia National Park beaches.

It’s a small beach, but it’s perfect for families with little ones. The water is crystal clear, and the waves are usually pretty calm, so it’s great for swimming. You can also take a walk on the nearby Great Head Trail or Ocean Path Trail, which has stunning views of the ocean.

Echo Lake Beach

Next, we have Echo Lake Beach. This is a freshwater beach, which means the water comes from a lake instead of the ocean.

The water is warm and calm, which makes it perfect for younger kids who might not be comfortable in the ocean yet. There are restrooms on site.

Seawall Beach

Now, let’s talk about Seawall Beach. This is a rocky beach, which means there aren’t any grains of sand. Instead, the ground is covered in smooth rocks. It’s a great place to explore, because you can find all sorts of creatures in the tide pools.

Make sure you wear shoes with good grip, though, because the rocks can be slippery. And if you get tired of exploring, you can always take a rest on the rocks and listen to the sound of the waves.

Little Hunters Beach

Next we have Little Hunters Beach. This is a very secluded beach, which means it’s not very crowded.

It’s also a rocky beach, but the rocks are smaller than the ones at Seawall Beach. The water here is usually pretty calm, so it’s a good place to swim.

And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can climb up the rocks to get a great view of the ocean.

Seal Harbor Beach

Seal Harbor Beach, located near Acadia National Park, is a hidden gem for beach lovers. This serene area offers a tranquil escape from the stressors of life.

With its pristine sandy shores and crystal-clear waters, it’s the perfect spot to relax, unwind, and soak up the sun. Take a refreshing swim in the cool Atlantic Ocean or simply bask in the beauty of the surrounding natural scenery.
